Should I give up learning rust?

ㅓShould I give up learning rust?

I started learning Rust because of its wonderful ecosystem and its functional approach. I planed to develop my first app using the Iced library and so I started reading "The Rust Programming Language".

Recently I reached chapter 10, and just when I thought "traits" would be the most syntactically verbose feature, I discovered "lifetimes".

I'm a bit overwhelmed right now. Should I continue learning? Is it too difficult for a computers enthusiast rather than a programmer? Is the lang overkill for what I want to develop? Does it get harder?
Maybe there's something like Python but for Rust out there.
